• Rash and negligent driving continues to be one of the leading offences, with over 2.4 lakh cases of rash driving and a steady rise in incidents causing hurt and grievous injuries.
• Disobedience to orders by public servants has significantly declined from over 3.2 lakh cases in 2021 to around 52,000 in 2023, possibly indicating improved compliance or enforcement mechanisms.
• Offences such as criminal intimidation and cruelty by husband or relatives continue to record high numbers, highlighting persistent social and domestic tensions.
• Cases of obstruction on public ways and obscene acts in public places have risen, pointing to increasing disturbances in public order. Religious and election-related offences remain comparatively low but still reflect occasional societal friction. On the other hand, crimes like adulteration of food/drugs and harbouring offenders have declined sharply.
