Miscellaneous Crimes in India

Rash and negligent driving continues to be one of the leading offences, with over 2.4 lakh cases of rash driving and a steady rise in incidents causing hurt and grievous injuries.
Disobedience to orders by public servants has significantly declined from over 3.2 lakh cases in 2021 to around 52,000 in 2023, possibly indicating improved compliance or enforcement mechanisms.
Offences such as criminal intimidation and cruelty by husband or relatives continue to record high numbers, highlighting persistent social and domestic tensions.
Cases of obstruction on public ways and obscene acts in public places have risen, pointing to increasing disturbances in public order. Religious and election-related offences remain comparatively low but still reflect occasional societal friction. On the other hand, crimes like adulteration of food/drugs and harbouring offenders have declined sharply.
